Rautermods Gallery is a picture gallery designed to be easy to install and maintain but at the same time also give many choices how the gallery should look and act.
The gallery is built to be as simple as possible. It is very easy to install because it is only a single file. The gallery does not use more components then those which are bundled with PHP's windows package. The gallery is built to be as flexible as possible, and give the user many options to customize the gallery for his/hers own needs. The options stretch from appearance to functionality. In the gallery, an administrator can log in to perform updates to thumbnails as well as editing and creating captions. It can also be configured to be private and require guests to login with username and password. The gallery can handle three different image files. Those three are: JPEG, GIF and PNG. Note that GIF-images are only shown if the GD-library is of version 2.0.28 or higher. The gallery can also show thumbnails for subdirectories, zip-, rar- and movie files. The movie formats that the gallery can handle are: AVI, MPEG, WMV, 3GP and MOV. The thumbnails for subdirectories, zip-, rar- and movie files are automatically generated by the script and are therefore very simple. They can easily be replaced with other images after the gallery has been activated. The gallery's standard setup does not show these files. If the gallery is configured to show subdirectories, the gallery is expanded further and also shows the files in the subdirectories as it normally would. Multiple copies of the index file are therefore not needed in the subdirectories. Also, the gallery has a function that automatically deletes old thumbnails and text files when the original image has been removed or changed name. This function is not activated per standard. System requirements: PHP 4.3.4 or later. GD-library 2.0.15 or later. (There are no guarantees that the gallery will work properly with earlier versions then mentioned.) |
